Good morning!
Are you sick of Disney posts? This is the last one. I promise
We started our third day at Disneyland bright and early for Character Breakfast at Storytellers Cafe. We purchased our trip through Costco (which I highly recommend) so it came with the character dining and a $40 gift card to Disney. We also saved a few hundred Dollars by booking through them. Anyway, we made our way down to the restaurant which was in The Grand California and were greeted by a large friendly bear.
None of us could figure out what he was from and had to ask our server who told us he was from Pocahontas.
The Love Nugget also got autographs from Chip and Dale and a friendly raccoon. Who we also assumed was from Pocahontas. After breakfast we made our way to the gates of California Adventure located inside our hotel for Magic morning. A much less crowded entrance and we were shocked to find ourselves near the front of the line for the most sought after ride in CA Adventure, Radiator Springs.
We made it there so quickly that The Hubby (who was waiting in line to get World of Color Fast Passes), didn’t make it to get on the ride with us The Love Nugget enjoyed it right up until the race started then screamed like a little girl the rest of the way. The rest of us thought it was pretty fun!
(Poor guy!)
We walked through the near empty park enjoying no waits for the rides that were open and the characters that were out and about.
Waiting for the Woody Adventure, his favorite ride in CA Adventure
Then we met up with the rest of our group and spent some time in Bugs Life Land where the boys could enjoy some rides.
My brother, nephew, Love Nugget and my mom spinning on the bugs!
We skipped Tower of Terror and made our way to Monsters Inc. A much more enjoyable ride for all After some lunch, The Hubby, Love Nugget and I went on the Ferris Wheel then played some games on the Boardwalk.
The Love Nugget was so excited to win a BIG prize from this fishing game. We walked away with a bag filled with stuffed animals and a big smile on his face
We met back up with our group in Grizzly Peak.
The Love Nugget and Hubby went through the Wilderness course and I decided to head up to the hotel to rest my tired feet for a little bit while getting some work done.
After awhile I made my way back down to meet them and on my way down The Love Nugget vomited while waiting for the parade with his Nani I thought maybe it was from all the rides and an ice cream but he did so again a few times before begging to go back to the hotel.
Reason number 99 why we were thankful we chose Grand California. It was just a short walk back to our hotel room where he curled up on the bed. We thought maybe we’d make it back down for the World of Color but he kept throwing up so we ended up ordering room service and watching an episode of The Killing.
My nephew got sick within an hour of The Love Nugget starting so we thought for sure it was something they ate. I even called the hotel trying to figure out how we could find out if anyone else had reported illness’. Then around 12:00am my MIL got sick too so we knew it wasn’t the food but some sort of stomach bug. Unfortunately they were both in and out of the bathroom all night long so we didn’t get much sleep.
We got on the road to head for home in the morning and made a quick pit stop at a Walgreens for some flu meds and a bucket. Thank goodness I got that bucket as The Love Nugget got sick again in the car. Poor guy!
I’m not sure how The Hubby and I managed to not get sick but we did it! Usually every time The Love Nugget gets the stomach flu, we end up with it a few days later. I may be jinxing myself but it’s almost a week later and we’re still good! I’m chalking it up to the fact that we both drink Shakeology almost everyday. Extra nutrients really do help
